I absolutely love Tin Shed! The atmosphere is so unique and welcoming to everyone. The staff are extremely friendly and the food is phenomenal. We got eggs Benedict and the French toast followed by their incredible biscuits. It's a really good place for anyone of any body size or persons with disabilities. The patio is dog friendly as well. I'd definitely recommend making reservations as there can be a long wait on the weekend.
We were seated over 15 minutes late for our reservation. They could have sat us on time but decided to seat a couple on a four top table and make our party of three wait. There was a two top available the entire time which would have solved everyone's problem. The food way okay. Portions were large. The gravy was wayyy too thick. The mushrooms are more of an afterthought and not really part of the gravy. I love gravy and this was not very good. The place was clean but there is nowhere to wait in the entrance. They have self serve black coffee for $4.50 and free water but nowhere to sit or stand while you wait for your table. You pretty much have to wait outside in the rain with no cover or block the entrance by waiting on the ramp.
We enjoyed everything at this cafe. The staff was energetic and engaging with us only thing missing was our dog. But we met lots cute tail- wagging patrons that morning. Keep doing what you're doing. It works! Love it all..
Fantastic breakfast. Highly recommend anything and everything. I had the Stay scramble and I could not have been happier. The rosemary gravy is delicious and omg the biscuit is crispy crispy on the outside and beautifully soft on the inside. Add the homemade jam and it’s heavenly.
This was a delicious breakfast option in Portland! It was very busy, but we were able to get a seat at the bar without waiting too long. We enjoyed the self serve coffee bar, which was nice, and both of our breakfast were very excellent.
A Breakfast Sandwich To Rule Them All…….. And A Biscuit. And Cheesy Grits. I think I have had my all time favorite breakfast sandwich. It called the “Sweater Weather breakfast sando”, so it may be seasonal. Get One Now! What pushes it over the top of every other breakfast sandwich I have ever had is the Pear Rosemary chutney. A brilliant touch of savory sweet to the house made pork sausage patty and greens. Speaking as a male recovering from his southern upbringing, being able to order grits in the PNW is a pleasant surprise. Much has been written about their biscuits, so no need to extol them here. The wait is worth it.
We stayed across the street on our first ever visit to Portland and our experience at Tin Shed was such a bonus to our trip. Not only was the staff incredibly kind and quick, the food was amazing! I can’t thank them enough for trusting my sister and I’d 6 kids to sit at a table by themselves, they didn’t seem out out by our large crowd at all and had the adults sit at the table next to them. They treated all of us with attentive care and in a magical turn of events, the kids took it upon themselves to play the quiet game and enjoyed their meal so much they were speechless and so well behaved. Something about the chill environment and the ability to self serve yourself coffee, tea and water just added to the homestyle feel of Tin Shed. They have a beautiful patio and it is dog friendly! Seriously, everything we ordered was hot, fresh, fast and so so yum!! Just look at the pictures! I can’t wait to go back to this Portland gem in the Alberta Arts District! Thank you, Tin Shed! I miss you already!
